super support team at Cricket Feet includes Keith Johnson
and Ryan Basham,
who will facilitate some portions of the seminar
topics, along with our host and multiple
award-winning filmmaker Kathi Carey. |

| Keith
Johnson is a true jack-of-all-trades. Getting
his start in the entertainment industry a little
late in life, he spent his formative years in the US
Marines where he traveled the world in the infantry,
followed by a stint at the University of Wisconsin
where he studied astronautical engineering and
Japanese. Keith worked as a lifeguard and security
guard, a truck driver and a truck assembly-line
worker. He also got a degree in criminal justice and
then became a computer network infrastructure
architect. He's been in Los Angeles since 2001,
moving to the city in yet another incarnation of his
ever-expanding life. Keith has been pursuing a
career in Hollywood as a true hyphenate--actor,
writer, casting professional, crew--whatever it
takes to move the projects he cares about forward. |
| Ryan Basham
is a native of the mountain south where he grew up
with the families of Dolly Parton and Johnny and
June Carter Cash as neighbors (yes, really). His
career began early in high school when he began
producing record-breaking cultural festivals in the
southeast. His producing career includes several
independent films such as The Wraith: Eyes of
Judgment (an action feature based on
the Australian comic book of the same name), an
untitled big-budget documentary for one of America's
leading pharmaceutical companies, and Getting Away (a
short shot in the high desert of southern
California; currently in post production). His
production company, The Basham
Company, currently has several series and
features in various stages of production and
development. Ryan also has several years of
experience in entertainment and strategic public
relations, including a year spent working directly
under the chief creative officer of one of the
world's top ten PR firms. |
| Kathi Carey
was a child prodigy in music, performing classical
piano throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, winning
awards and accolades for her work. As an adult,
Kathi realized film and television were her passion
and was drawn to Los Angeles to pursue an acting
career. Soon, she became fascinated with the
elements that go into the creation of the projects
she worked to create as an actor. This led her to
learn the crafts of writing, producing, and
directing in a unique mentoring program from a
successful filmmaker, often on a working set. Both
of Kathi's short films--Reflections
of
a Life and Worth--have
screened
at many film festivals, received critical praise,
and won numerous awards. Kathi is currently
developing two feature films and a webseries. |
